Iris and Cameron’s Wedding

Iris and Cameron’s wedding is one of my favorite weddings I’ve ever shot! I first met the two of them in 2020 when I got the chance to shoot their engagement session. This was before they hired me as their wedding photographer, and we had a great time in Uptown Charlotte at Romare Bearden Park! I’ll be making a separate blog post at some point about their engagement session.

After I delivered the photos from their engagement shoot, Iris and Cameron made the decision to book me for their wedding! When they told me that their wedding was in Lake City, SC, I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea where that was. But I ended up loving their hotel and venue, as you’ll see, everything was amazing!

In leading up to the big date, I got to talk with their wedding planner, The Diva Planner, aka Cindy, all about the timeline. As a photographer I develop a wedding photography timeline that’s useful to both the bride and groom. The overall day timeline is great because it keeps the vendors and everything in time, however it doesn’t necessarily help the bride and groom know where to be until the ceremony. Hence, I create my photography timeline for all of the photos throughout the day. Cindy was also able to let me know a little more about Lake City, the hotel and venue, which I appreciated. Cindy was definitely a highlight of the day and I’m excited to work with her more in the future!

The Wedding Day

Cameron’s Getting Ready

I typically start the day with the groom and his groomsmen, and this day was no different. Since Iris and Cameron had all day coverage, we were really able to spend time with each of them and get the best shots! The hotel, The Inn at the Crossroads, turned out to be the saving grace of the day. It rained the entire day, so we were forced to do all of the photos indoors. We started with getting photos of Cameron’s details, followed by the getting ready process with him and his groomsmen.

Cameron’s Portraits

Groom portraits are one of my favorite part of the day. The groom should never be overlooked when it comes to portraits, and Camerion certainly brought the class and style.

Iris’ Getting Ready

After shooting with Cameron, we headed to Iris. Same deal here, details first, then photos with the bridesmaids and then her getting ready photos. Iris and her girls were super fun to photograph and were truly giving!

Iris’ Portraits

There’s nothing left to say except LOOK AT THESE!! Once again, because of the rain all of the photos from the day had to be inside, but the hotel made that 100% possible by being a bomb location!

Ceremony

One of the best things about the wedding day was that the hotel was 3 minutes away from The Rob, the ceremony and reception location and everything was decorated beautifully.

Bride and Groom Portraits

At a typical wedding I would have been upset that we weren’t able to get photos outside. But as soon as I saw the piano when scouting the lobby for shooting spots, I knew we were going to be okay.
